Project Team Structure 

Understanding 

A project team structure is a simple chart displaying how the hierarchy and communication flow is like internally and externally. This chart will determine how the team dynamics would be like and give team members an idea on how the team dynamics would be like.

In my team, the way we work is that our group leader, Natalie, would be the one in charge of communicating between the team and the external organization. She would also be the one allocating the roles to us as she is the leader. To put it simply, she is our team’s spokesperson. Everyone was in favor of this decision as we felt it was the most convenient. 

Values and Challenges 

A good aspect of this is that it allows all group members to be aware of how the dynamics are. Furthermore, for my team, since Natalie was the main person communicating between both parties, it would mean that the organization would not need to hear from all 5 of us but just one collective message.

A negative aspect is that team members may refuse to cooperate and agree with the team dynamic and try to take charge over the project. If this were to happen, the group needs to gather together and air out their grievances as it may lead to severe conflicts in the future.
